Empowering Single Unemployed Mothers for a Better Tomorrow

Empowering Single Unemployed Mothers for a Better Tomorrow

Welcome to “That Year” – an inspiring initiative born out of the collaboration between the Living Word Hibiscus Church and local businesses. As a non-profit organization, our sole focus is to extend a helping hand to unemployed single mothers, offering them not only a safe haven but also a genuine opportunity to regain their footing in life. Our name “That Year” holds a heartfelt significance. It stands for “To Have A Testimonial“, encapsulating our unwavering commitment to bringing about meaningful change in the lives of unemployed single mothers and their dependent children. By providing them with resources and support we embark on a shared mission to make “That Year” a time of profound positive change, leading to powerful testimonials of strength, progress, and lasting impact.

About us

Mission & Vision

Just as we receive grace every day, it is our responsibility to apply the same grace to others. At That Year, we understand the power and unconditional love of a mother. With your support, we aim to assist mothers in providing a safe haven and helping them obtain the necessary provisions and skills to support their young children. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these mothers and their precious children.

How We Support Single Mothers

We recognise the unique challenges single mothers face and have tailored our efforts to provide comprehensive support. Through our initiatives we offer tangible assistance in the form of essential provisions such as food, clothing and necessary supplies, aiming to alleviate immediate concerns and promote stability.

Beyond material assistance, we understand the importance of emotional well-being. That’s why we also provide counselling services, offering a safe space for these mothers to discuss their challenges and to access guidance. Additionally, we equip them with vital information and resources that empower them to make informed decisions about their futures. Through our holistic approach, we strive to uplift and empower single unmarried mothers, fostering a community where they can thrive despite the obstacles they may face.

How you can help our Single Mothers

Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of single mothers and create a brighter future for our community.

There are multiple ways for both individuals and businesses to contribute to and play a significant role in realising our vision of supporting unemployed single mothers. Your generous donations, whether monetary or non-monetary, can create a tangible impact on the lives of these mothers and their families.

That Year is a registered non-profit organisation and we can issue Section 18A Tax Certificates for all eligible donations.

As a gesture of appreciation towards our generous corporate sponsors, we are honoured to display their logos on our website and printed marketing materials.

Your experience and expertise can be invaluable to single mothers who are navigating their way back into the workforce. Consider offering mentorship programs that provide guidance on career development and personal growth.
